The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), officially named the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship for sponsorship reasons, marks the 8th edition of the biennial football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This competition exclusively features players who compete in their respective domestic leagues, showcasing local talent across Africa.
For the first time in CHAN history, the tournament will be co-hosted by three countries—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—and is scheduled to take place from 1 to 28 February 2025.
Host Selection
The hosting rights were awarded to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda on 17 December 2023. This joint hosting arrangement serves as a precursor to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will also be hosted by these three East African nations.

Qualification Process
The qualification for the tournament began on 25 October 2024 and will conclude on 29 December 2024. The procedures were announced during a CAF event at its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, on 9 September 2024.
Notably:
- Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia were given automatic qualification. However, Libya withdrew from the competition due to scheduling conflicts.
