Viral Footage Shows K-Pop Stars Reportedly Singing Along to Song with Racial Slur

The Blackpink pre-debut video controversy has erupted after members Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa faced criticism this week. Specifically, a leaked video allegedly shows them singing along to a track containing the N-word. As a result, the footage has quickly gone viral across social media platforms and fan communities.

Moreover, someone using the alias “YG Leaker” posted the controversial clip on Discord. This user claims to be a former employee of YG Entertainment, Blackpink’s management company. Consequently, the leak has sparked intense debate among fans and critics about cultural sensitivity in K-pop.

According to reports, the Discord user doesn’t just possess this single video. In fact, they claim to have access to a significant amount of unreleased content. This allegedly includes data involving artists from YG and other major South Korean entertainment agencies.

Additionally, the leaker explained their motivations in stark terms. “Doing all this because I got fired. I hate the whole company. It’s full of mobbing, racism and sexism,” they stated. Therefore, this suggests the leak may be an act of revenge against the entertainment company.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment has not yet released any official statement addressing the controversy. Consequently, the company’s silence has allowed speculation to continue unabated across social media platforms.

Furthermore, fans have directed particularly critical reactions toward Jennie and Rosé. Both members speak English fluently. Hence, many argue they should have known better. One social media user commented, “Out of all the songs, them saying ones with [the] N-word and being fluent in English is nuts… like it’s definitely a choice.”

The incident has also prompted wider discussions about idol training environments. Subsequently, fans are questioning what standards exist at major entertainment companies like YG. Many are also debating the responsibility global celebrities have regarding racial sensitivity.

Although the authenticity of “YG Leaker” remains unconfirmed, the user has threatened to release more potentially damaging content. In addition, they suggest future leaks could involve other prominent K-pop idols and groups.

YG Entertainment holds significant influence in the K-pop industry. Yang Hyun-suk founded the company in 1996, and since then, it has grown into one of South Korea’s entertainment powerhouses. Similarly, the company has established a reputation for its distinctive hip-hop inspired style and global reach.

Beyond Blackpink, YG has managed numerous successful acts. These include Bigbang, Winner, and other major K-pop groups. Furthermore, the company handles comprehensive artist development. This covers training, music production, promotional activities, and international distribution.

YG belongs to South Korea’s “Big Four” entertainment agencies. Along with SM, JYP, and HYBE, these companies dominate the K-pop landscape. Thus, the pre-debut video controversy comes at a time when K-pop continues to expand its global influence and reach new international audiences.

As this situation develops, many fans are watching closely to see how Blackpink members and YG Entertainment will address these allegations. Ultimately, the controversy highlights the ongoing challenge K-pop idols face as they navigate global fame and cultural differences.
