The Dubai Mallathon is officially underway, offering a refreshing way to stay fit this summer. Backed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this event promotes health, community engagement, and overall wellbeing.

Since Dubai’s extreme heat often discourages outdoor activity, this initiative comes at the perfect time. Nine major malls have transformed into climate-controlled tracks, providing over 10 kilometers of indoor walking and running space. These tracks are open daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 am throughout August.

Participants can walk, jog, or run while enjoying a vibrant atmosphere. Moreover, the Mallathon includes daily challenges and weekend competitions. To make it even more rewarding, there are over 40 iPhones, 10 tablets, and a wide range of shopping vouchers and gift cards to be won.

The participating malls include Dubai Mall, Dubai Hills Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, Dubai Marina Mall, The Springs Souk, Dubai Festival City, and Festival Plaza. Together, they offer a convenient and comfortable fitness experience, regardless of the weather.

Furthermore, the Dubai Mallathon supports the Year of Community, Dubai Social Agenda 33, and Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 33. These strategic programs aim to make fitness a regular part of urban life.

Organized by the Dubai Sports Council and the Ministry of Defence, the Mallathon also enjoys strong support from key partners. These include Mai Dubai, UAE Sports For All Federation, Al Tadawi Hospital, and Dubai Cooperative Society. In addition, Uber and Careem offer discounted rides for participants, making access easier.

Importantly, the event is open to everyone. Whether you’re a child, a senior, a mall employee, or part of the MyDubai Communities initiative, you’re welcome to join. In fact, inclusivity is one of the Mallathon’s top priorities.

The Community Development Authority, in partnership with mall organizers, will also run a special initiative called “Walking for Better Health.” This activity encourages senior citizens to stay active in safe, engaging environments. Their participation is both encouraged and celebrated.

Health and nutrition are central to the experience. Attendees can benefit from free health screenings, nutrition consultations, and healthy food options available at select venues. These additional services support long-term lifestyle improvement.

To further enhance wellness, experts recommend unplugging after your Mallathon session. For instance, reading a book, playing a board game, or enjoying quiet family time can help you relax and sleep better.

Best of all, participation is completely free. You can register online at www.dubaimallathon.ae. Once signed up, you’ll receive a digital participation card that grants access and tracks your activity.

Ultimately, the Dubai Mallathon shows that fitness, fun, and community can thrive together. With indoor spaces, engaging activities, and exciting rewards, the event makes staying active easier than ever—even during summer in Dubai.
