Remove Black Points from UAE Driving Licence for Free

The Remove Black Points UAE Driving Licence campaign offers drivers a unique opportunity to improve their driving record without paying fines. Through the Ministry of Interior’s “Accident-Free Day” initiative, motorists can pledge to drive safely and have four black points erased from their record — all at no cost.

How the Accident-Free Day Works

The Accident-Free Day falls on August 25, 2025, marking the start of the “A Safe School Year” campaign. With traffic congestion peaking near schools during the first day of the academic year, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) is encouraging drivers to pledge safe driving practices. Those who register before August 25 and adhere to the campaign’s safety rules will automatically receive a four-point deduction from their UAE driving licence. The removal is processed electronically on September 15, 2025, requiring no in-person visit.

Steps to Remove Black Points

To participate, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the MOI official website (moi.gov.ae) and sign in using your UAE Pass.
  2. Navigate to “Smart Services” and select “Initiative Of A Day Without Accidents.”
  3. Read and agree to the safe driving commitments — these include maintaining a safe distance, obeying speed limits, yielding to pedestrians, wearing seatbelts, avoiding distractions, and giving way to emergency vehicles.
  4. Click “I agree” and receive your participation certificate by email.

By following the rules on August 25, drivers will have four black points deducted automatically.

Understanding Black Points in the UAE

Black points are penalties for traffic violations. Minor offences may incur fines only, but more serious violations lead to black points. Drivers can accumulate between four and 24 black points. Reaching 24 points results in court referral and potential licence suspension.

Common Offences Worth Four Black Points

The Remove Black Points UAE Driving Licence initiative helps drivers clear their records from common violations such as:

  • Using a handheld mobile phone while driving
  • Failing to maintain a safe distance
  • Not fastening a seatbelt (driver or passenger)
  • Driving an unlicensed or expired vehicle
  • Sudden swerving or reversing dangerously
  • Driving in fog without lights or against instructions
  • Exceeding passenger limits or using a vehicle for undesignated purposes
  • Dangerous loading of light vehicles
  • Transporting passengers without a licence

These offences are avoidable through mindful, safe driving habits.

Why Participate in the Initiative

Joining the Accident-Free Day is more than just a way to remove black points. It promotes safer roads, reduces accident risks, and fosters a responsible driving culture. With no fees involved, the initiative is a win-win for drivers and the community.

By committing to one day of careful driving, you not only improve your driving record but also contribute to public safety.
