Industrial Expansion

In a major shift, the Saudi cabinet removed the expatriate levy for licensed industrial entities. This continues six years of reform. As a result, industrial GDP rose by 56%, now exceeding SAR 501 billion. Industrial employment also grew by 74%, showing strong support for manufacturing and production.

Digital Recognition

Saudi Arabia earned global praise for its digital efforts. It ranked second worldwide on the World Bank’s GovTech Maturity Index, scoring 99.64%. The Kingdom’s focus on e-governance, innovation, and youth engagement in AI has built its reputation as a digital leader. Saudi students won 26 global awards in the World Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth.

Tourism and Religious Visitation

Tourism reached record levels. During Jumada Al-Akhira, the holy mosques welcomed 68.7 million visitors, with 11.9 million Umrah rituals performed. Riyadh Season 2025 has drawn eight million tourists since October, showing strong interest in Saudi Arabia’s cultural and entertainment offerings.

Economic Growth

Other indicators show a diverse and growing economy. Non-oil exports rose by 32.3%. E-commerce sales hit SAR30.7 billion in October, a 68% increase from the previous year. The number of industrial facilities grew to over 12,000, up from 8,822 in 2019.

Healthcare Innovation

Healthcare has also advanced. King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre ranked first in the Middle East for oncology and orthopaedics. The hospital introduced a 3D-printing technique to treat inner ear disorders, showing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to medical progress.

Global Impact and Sustainability

Saudi Arabia’s achievements reached beyond its borders. It signed $160 million in development loans with Mauritania for water and electricity projects. The kingdom set a Guinness World Record for storing 95 tonnes of seasonal seeds. It also earned accreditation for two Dark Sky Reserves in AlUla, Sharaan, and Wadi Nakhlah, supporting environmental protection.
